Emeryville, CA-Nady Systems recently introduced its IRW Series wireless microphones and portable PA utilizing revolutionary new state-of-the-art invisible infrared (IR) light transmission technology. The IRW Series offers an ideal alternative to radio (RF) wireless, particularly for situations in which RF congestion or privacy issues are a concern.

The IRW Series wireless microphone systems-the IRW-215 single channel and the IRW-220 dual channel (for use with two transmitters simultaneously)-offer high quality audio and solid reception suitable for all speaking and most recreational singing applications. Both the IRW-215 and 220 systems feature receiver outputs that can easily connect to any mixer or amplifier system and are perfect for use in conference/meeting rooms, classrooms, churches, health clubs, small auditoriums and other medium-sized venues, as well as consumer applications such as home karaoke.

The IRW Series PA system-the IRW-1PA-is a single channel, portable wireless PA system. The IRW-1PA is completely self-contained, with built-in 12 -Watt amplifier, speaker, and wireless microphone system. Designed for high performance and ease of use, the system is very simple to set up and operate and is ideal for numerous small venue applications, including classrooms, meeting rooms, etc.

All the IRW Series systems are available with a choice of the IRW-LT6 bodypack transmitter (for use with lapel or headset microphones) or the IRW-HT6 handheld microphone transmitter. Both feature multiple emitter arrays of high efficiency infrared emission LEDs for optimum IR transmission.

Transmission range is approximately 40' line-of-sight and can be extended in any direction for an additional 40' with an optional wall or ceiling mount remote IRW-1S sensor which connects to the receiver. All the IRW Series receivers feature built-in, high-sensitivity multiple wide-angle IR sensor arrays for optimum reception from all directions.

Since IR won't transmit through walls, any number of IRW systems can be used in the same building without the interference often encountered in multiple RF (VHF and/or UHF) wireless mic set-ups. The IRW mics also enable secure, in-room-only transmissions for privacy, not possible with RF wireless systems which penetrate outside rooms.
